10:00 AM - 1:30 PM MEDA’s Annual Economic Development Day in Annapolis
Economic Development Day brings together elected and appointed officials from around the state with economic development professionals for one day to celebrate and explore efforts to bring jobs and investment to Maryland. As we gather in the state capital, there is special focus on the role of public policy in creating an environment that puts Maryland in a competitive position with other states. All members of the General Assembly have been invited by MEDA, but we encourage you to reach out to your local influencers, and encourage them to attend.

The day is designed to provide an opportunity to network with elected and appointed officials, highlight your business in a unique location, share how our diverse industry sectors play a vital role in the state’s economic climate, and represent economic development to all our partners.

Industry sectors including telecommunications, biotechnology, manufacturing, health care, cyber security, and others will come together to highlight their transformative statewide economic development efforts. Do you create opportunities? Do you inspire innovation? Do you enrich communities? Maximize your time and join us in Annapolis to share your message.

Public Information Meeting regarding proposed response action plan for cleanup of 3400 Boston St. property

The property located at 3400 Boston Street, in Baltimore City, Maryland has been accepted into Maryland’s Voluntary Cleanup Program. A proposed response action plan (RAP) has been submitted to the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) for approval. The property has metals and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in soil; volatile organic compounds and petroleum hydrocarbons in groundwater; and volatile organic compounds in soil vapor that exceed MDE’s Residential Cleanup Standards. The proposed RAP outlines the planned site improvements at the property. The proposed remedy/improvement for soil is capping (asphalt, certified aggregate, etc.) and soil removal, and the proposed remedy for soil vapor is the installation of a vapor barrier within proposed buildings. A deed notice to restrict groundwater will be used at the site. This RAP is based upon future use of the property for residential purposes.

Any person wishing to request further information or make comments regarding the proposed RAP must do so in writing. Comments or requests should be submitted to the attention of the Voluntary Cleanup Program project manager, Chris Hartman, at the Maryland Department of the Environment, 1800 Washington Boulevard, Suite 625, Baltimore, Maryland 21230; telephone 410-537-3493.
