Event Description: Businesses get audited by many entities. We think first of IRS for income taxes, they can also audit you for payroll issues. The state has 3 different branches that will audit a business 1) income division for taxes, 2) Sales division for sales and use tax, and 3) unemployment division. The last one is the most common and the one business will fail most often because they are incorrectly treating someone as a subcontractor that should be an employee. If you have employees, your workers comp insurance company will audit you either annually or bi-annually.
