Despite what you may have heard, an Employee Manual is almost universally interpreted as a contract usually against the employer, so your manual should be properly drafted to reflect your company culture, but also to clearly spell out how the relationship between your company and your employers will operate. Also, although Maryland is an at-will employment state, it does not mean that employer-employee contracts don’t exist. We will cover the common types and how to handle employee contracts.
