Event Description: The Maryland State Archives is hosting a series of public programming called Brown Bag Lunch and Learn. Once a month, the Archives will hold an informal, free talk in their conference room open to the general public where Archives' staff members will share different aspects of their jobs and ongoing projects.
Our July talk will be given by Jenn Cruickshank, Archives Paper Conservator, and is titled Family photos: Basic Preservation Storage and Handling. If you ever wanted to learn more about caring for your family's treasures at home, this talk is for you! Jenn has been treating documents and tackling complex rehousing and preservation issues at the MSA since 1998. She has a Collections Care Certificate from the Campbell Center for Historic Preservation Studies with an emphasis on photographic collections, and is a member of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works, the Washington Conservation Guild, and the Guild of Book Workers. Come benefit from her years of hands-on expertise! The talk will be held on Wednesday, July 15 at noon.
Feel free to bring both your lunch and any questions you may have! Please email or call Emily Oland Squires to RSVP to this event at emily.squires@maryland.gov or 410-260-6443. Please note: a valid photo ID is required to enter the Archives building. |
