Event Description:
Please join the Maryland State Archives for its October Brown Bag Lunch and Learn Program, "'Strange Fruit in the 'Free State': A History of Lynching in Maryland, 1854-1933".  We will welcome members of the Bowie State University Summer Undergraduate Research Institute (SURI).   Dr. Nicholas Creary is an Assistant Professor of African and African American History, James Copeland is a Sophomore History major, and Sydney Lawson is a Junior Psychology major at Bowie State.  They will share results of their research project to study the history of lynching in the state of Maryland on Wednesday, October 12 at 12:00pm at the Maryland State Archives Conference Room, 350 Rowe Blvd., Annapolis, MD 21401.
