10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Advancing Stormwater Resiliency in Maryland Listening Session

The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) has issued an Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPRM) to update stormwater regulations in COMAR 26.17.02 and the Maryland Stormwater Design Manual​. ​For more information on the ANPRM, draft regulations and design manual updates, follow the links below:

MDE invites written comments on this ANPRM through December 19, 2025. Please include your name/organization and, where possible, cite specific sections of the draft regulations or design manual your comments address. Attachments and supporting ​​​​analyses are welcome. All comments received will inform the development of formal proposed regulations.​

Get your hands dirty for clean water and a greener Baltimore! Join Blue Water Baltimore staff as we plant trees along the streets of a few Baltimore City neighborhoods. Volunteers new to planting trees and expert TreeKeepers alike are welcome to attend. Our tree planting projects are rain or shine, and we recommend closed-toed shoes and clothing that is appropriate for the weather and getting dirty. Hats, sunblock, and sunglasses are strongly encouraged. We ask volunteers to bring a reusable water bottle to reduce waste. We provide work gloves, hand tools, and snacks but feel free to bring your own if you prefer.

The project will include constructing a bicycle and pedestrian route on an abandoned railroad bed, constructing a boardwalk, constructing a parking lot for pedestrian access, constructing a new crossing over Big Annemessex River. The project will include installing stormwater management facilities along the proposed pathway.
