9:00 AM - 12:00 PM | Bowie Stream and Community Cleanup
Join residents of all ages at the annual spring cleanup in Bowie! We will have several sites open for cleaning, but first we will have a kickoff event in the back of the Free State Shopping Center on Annapolis Road (MD Rt 450). Volunteers will then head to their streams – we have three to choose from. Locations will be given to registered participants. We will provide gloves & bags. We will have water available so be sure to bring your reusable bottle. We ask volunteers to wear long sleeves & pants and boots or sturdy shoes that can get a bit wet.
Prince George’s County students will receive Service Learning Hours. | |
9:00 AM - 11:00 AM | CHARTLEY MARYLAND STREAM CLEANUP The Chartley Neighborhood Association will sponsor a cleanup of the Chartley Stream on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Volunteers should meet on Sacred Heart Lane, between Chartley Drive and Highmeadow Road, at 9 am. It is suggested that volunteers wear hard soled shoes/boots, long pants, and shirts/jackets with long sleeves. Gloves, bags and bottled water will be provided. | |
9:00 AM - 10:30 AM | FREE Guided Tour: Jabez Branch Floodplain Restoration Watershed Walk Join BWPR for our second Watershed Walk of 2025 in the Severn River headwaters on Saturday, April 5th from 9-10:30am (rain date Saturday, April 12th)! This tour will showcase the Jabez Branch Stream & Wetland Restoration in Millersville. This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to celebrate International Beaver Day (4/7) by exploring a project designed for, and already inhabited by, our local ecosystem engineers! The maximum group size is 20 people, so reserve your spot now! 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM | Potomac River Cleanup at Fort Foote Park Join Potomac Conservancy for a trash-tastic cleanup at Fort Foote Park, MD. Make a huge difference for the Potomac River as we turn to the water for a swimmable and fishable river. Polluted urban runoff is the only growing source of pollution to the river which is why we need your help. | |

Get outside, volunteer for a stream cleanup & make a difference for your community.
This is the annual Project Clean Streams in Cape St Claire. We will meet in the Cape Recreation Area parking lot across the street from Graul’s at 9 AM.
Bring rubber boots, since some areas may be wet. We will provide garden gloves and trash bags.
The goal is to collect as much trash as we can, particularly near our streams. You will be directed to a specific area, and shown where to bring full trash bags. | |

DPW’s Spring GROW Center season will feature five pop-up events and six free workshops. Attend one of the upcoming activities and get some great resources to help with your greening projects. Free trees, mulch, seeds, and reusable shopping bags will be available, as well as information on stormwater fee credits, plant advice, recycling and composting, adopt-a-lot, and other ways to make your home and community greener, cleaner, and more resilient. First come, first serve while supplies last.
The following is the schedule for GROW Center events. Please note the times for each event. The workshops are FREE but require registration. In-person workshops have limited space availability. Compost workshop attendees will receive a compost bin, courtesy of DPW Bureau of Solid Waste. | |

A trash clean-up day to tidy up Talbot’s parks, streets, and waterfronts, to turn our community into a cleaner, greener, and more beautiful place for everyone!

10:00 AM - 1:00 PM | Project Clean Stream – Jug Bay For the 5th year, Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary is partnering with Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay for Project Clean Stream. Every year, thousands of volunteers come together to pick up trash from local streams, creeks, rivers, parks, and neighborhoods as part of the Alliance’s Project Clean Stream! Join Volunteer Coordinator Debra Gage to pick up trash along the Patuxent River at our Patuxent Wetland Park. We will collect trash on the mile long stretch of shoreline and parking area to ensure safe fishing, paddling, and habitat. Free. Ages 8 and up. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. | |

Do you like being outside in nature and getting your hands in some soil? Join us and make a difference for future generations by planting trees!
More than 40,000 trees have been planted throughout the Gunpowder Watershed by enthusiastic volunteers over the past 36 years, and we need YOUR help to plant even more!
A maximum of 40 people, including GVC staff and volunteer leaders, will be allowed to participate in this event. We are allowing minors (ages 8 – 17) to attend our events as long as there is one parent/legal guardian per four children in attendance. | |
