Event Description:
Successful community projects require local input and strong support from multiple stakeholders, especially community members. To solicit the best community input, project leaders must be intentional and creative in how they gather feedback. Replacing a dull, public hearing with an interactive experience is going to attract more attendees and lead to better community engagement.
Ensuring that all voices are heard fosters ownership and continued involvement in a project beyond the first meeting. Communities can move forward with all stakeholders as a team of equal players working toward a shared vision. Opting out of the typical meeting structure breaks down barriers between the public, municipal leaders, and other stakeholders, strengthening collaboration and unity even after the project is completed.
