Event Description:
This invitation-only event is free for executive level biotech leaders and is presented
by BioHealth innovation, Tech Council of Maryland, Virginia Bio, GlycoMimetics and Medimmune/AstraZeneca. Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC set the bar high for biotech innovation. So please join us for our Second Annual BioTech Forum that will highlight the accomplishments of today and chart our successes of tomorrow.
We are excited to bring you speakers such as Dr. Preston Campbell, President and Chief Executive Officer, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; Dr. Bahija Jallal, Executive Vice President, MedImmune; Dr. Ray Johnson, former Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Lockheed Martin Corporation; Dr. Steven Knapp, President of George Washington University; Dr. Ripley Ballou, Vice President of Emerging Diseases, GlaxoSmithKline; Dr. Jay Perman, President of University of Maryland, Baltimore; Dr. Timothy Sands, President of Virginia Tech; Vikram Bajaj, Chief Scientific Officer, Verily (Google Life Sciences); Dr. Robin Robinson, Director, HHS/BARDA and Deputy Assistant Secretary, HHS/ ASPR; and Dr. Francis Collins, Director of the National Institutes of Health.
The program will feature sessions that focus on the advances in vaccine development and cancer biology, the role of NIH/ NHlBI and various foundations to promote collaboration within the ecosystem, the local funding options available to young entrepreneurs, the development of our region’s workforce, and the convergence of digital health and biotechnology. We will also host a panel including university presidents and a panel with policy makers to discuss their push to grow our industry.
