The Lead Poisoning Prevention Commission (LPPC) was created by statute in 1994 (Chapter 114, Acts of 1994). The Commission studies and collects information on the effectiveness of the Lead Poisoning Prevention Program and current risk reduction treatments in reducing exposure to lead as well as risk and liability issues including availability of insurance. (Environment Article, Secs. 6-801, 6-848).

The Chesapeake Oyster Alliance with support from the Chesapeake Bay Foundation is assembling an all-star lineup of oyster experts, post-docs, faculty, and industry practitioners for the 2024 Chesapeake Oyster Science Symposium. Multiple panel discussions featuring over 20 speakers are intended to offer succinct presentations and ample Q&A around each topic. The Symposium will also feature a round of lightning-talks by young scientists and early career professionals (attendees may self-select to present when they register) and frequent breaks to combat the dreaded “Zoom fatigue.”

This training webinar will demonstrate the EPA's Equitable Resilience Builder (ERB) tool, which incorporates local knowledge and experience into the development of a resilience, hazard mitigation, or climate adaptation plan. ERB is a downloadable application that supports communities in strengthening resilience to disasters and climate change. It contains a series of collaborative activities users can select from to include local voices in resilience planning via storytelling, trauma-informed engagement, participatory mapping, and indicator prioritization. Presenters will guide participants through each step of applying ERB to inclusive resilience planning.
