Event Description: Now that county and state officials have navigated through their first year of a new term of office with a new Administration, it’s time to batten down the hatches and prepare for potentially choppy waters ahead. With budgets stretched to the max, and looming – but uncertain – county-funded commitments on the horizon, local governments are in a precarious position. Add to that the ongoing concerns with affordable housing, climate change, and workforce recruitment and retention – among others – and it’s easy to see the perfect storm is brewing. This conference will discuss where Maryland is right now on these important issues, what’s ahead, and how governments and community partners can work together to face these challenges and weather the storm.
